Eligible students audition for roles and prepare a one-act play of not more than 50 minutes for presentation at the region One-Act Play Competition each October. The Drama Club is associted with one-act play and is open to anyone with an interest in acting and drama. This group presents additional plays during the year, takes field trips to view plays and musicals, and studies lassic and contemporary dramatic works

Boys Quartet and Girls Trio: There are positions for four male voices and three female voices and alternates for each of the positions
Boys and Girls Solo: Students: choose one selection from the standard repertoire and another number from any acceptable repertoire. These solos are accompanied by piano.
Boys and Girls Essay: One male student and alternate and one female student and alternate are chosen to write an essay from a group of topics including famous literary works or current events; the essay is no more than 600 words.
Boys and Girls Extemporaneous Speaking: One male student and alternate and one female student and alternate present an extemporaneous speech of five to seven minutes. Students meet at the competition, draw a topic, and then have 30 minutes to prepare there speech before presentation.
Boys and Girls Dramatic Interpretation: One male student and alternate and one female student and alternate prepare a 10 minute dramatic monologue for presentation; the presentation is done without costumes or props.

GHSA eligibility rules apply to all literary participants
The LIterary Team is comprised of students who meet GHSA eligibility requirements. The team competes once on the region level in March. Any winners on the region level advance to the state competition the weekend following the region contests. The team is formed each year in September and team membership is either by try-out or audition.
